24 year old Ruan Landsberg grew up in the town of Polokwane in the Limpopo province. After finishing school Ruan moved to Pretoria to start his degree at the University of Pretoria. Till today Ruan is still staying in Pretoria.
From the very young age of 8 years old Ruan wanted to make money and have his own business. He had his first entrepreneurial experience in grade 1. “I always saw the kids complaining about the long lines at the tuck-shop. So as soon as break started I ran to the shop, bought multiple items and then sold it next to the shop for R1-R2 more”. This went on for about 6 months till his family asked the school to follow him and saw that he was buying from the tuck shop and then selling to the other kids. 3 years later Ruan started to plant and sell tomatoes after noticing that the locals struggled to get tomatoes. This went on for a while and through this he helped his family to become more financially stable. Later on in high school Ruan and his brother saw the opportunity to buy and sell game animals like Black Impala. They did not have the money to buy these game animals but being a entrepreneur Ruan started to negotiate with the game farms to buy and sell for them. “I had no certain industry, I took every complaint and need from the people and made money where there was a opportunity”.
